Home Alone
Well, not actually home alone. I do have six children with me. Kerry and Alex are at the state High School Swimming Championships in Morgantown. They have been there since Wednesday. Congratulations to Alex, he finished 5th overall in the 50 yard freestyle. He was the only Freshman to qualify. He also finished 8th overall in the 100 yard freestyle. There were only 4 freshman to qualify overall for the the finals on Thursday. The other three are year round swimmers. I am really proud of Alex for his work ethic and desire to succeed.
Now to the home alone part. It is amazing all of the things Kerry does that I do not see on a daily basis. She is an amazing mother and wife. There is no way that I could these things anywhere close to how great she does them. I kind of feel sorry for the kids who are left with me. I know they miss their mommy.
I am also home alone in that I have to sleep by myself. I have to admit that I cannot sleep without Kerry curled up right beside me. There is a sense of wonder and contentment at the same time. There is a sense of peace, security and refreshment when I know I can reach over and touch her during the night. I have really missed my best friend for the last two days and nights. I can't wait for her to get home.
Scripture tells husband to love their wives in the same way that Christ loved the church. That is one thing I believe I am closest to doing right in my life. I love my wife more that anything else in this world. Thank you, God, for Kerry.
I get to see her tonight. I cant wait.
